This blog is intended to provide useful informatioun on the US legal system based on my real world experiences of:
- starting a business and being sued by my former employer (Steiner v. Bury)
- starting a business and being sued by my partner’s former employer (Segewick v. Tomkins),
- being sued to verdict (Maione v. Matol) – spoiler alert: I won
- being sued for a week (West Side Plumbing v. Bury)
- being sued for not screwing rank-and-file participants enough (Meese v. Bury) – spoiler alert: I settled and plan participants did get screwed
- Pending suit where our HOA (supposedly) is suing the builder (Applegate Condomium Assoc v Calco)
I will also touch upon ERISA class action suits and other actions that threaten our right to Freedom From Fear when law becomes a profit center where anybody can sue anybody else for anything at any time…as long as some lawyer sees the profit.
